What is Orthokeratology?
Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K is a special gas-permeable (GP) contact lens that are placed in in your eye at nighttime and worn overnight. While sleeping, the Ortho-K lens reshapes the front surface of your eye (the cornea) to correct your vision. With proper amount of wear time, after the lens is removed, vision is clear without glasses or contact lenses when you are awake. The effect is temporary, enough to maintain your clear vision for a day or two so you have to wear your Ortho-K lens every night to maintain this clear vision. In addition, this can slow down or even stop your myopia from getting worse.
